Berry Nice Friday!
MovetheFood is so lucky to have many partners throughout Greater Des Moines to make the job of moving food to those that need it so much easier. One of these is Capital City Fruit Company in Norwalk. Friday, MovetheFood distributed 8,064 pounds of luscious donated Capital City strawberries to hungry families. These strawberries moved through our MovetheFood 12 food pantry site network, various shelters and meals sites, The Boys and Girls Club, and The Food Bank of Iowa. 
One thing is certain, it was a berry nice weekend for families all across Greater Des Moines! And, by the end of the day—my white T-shirt definitely showed the “fruits” of my labor. Sorry, couldn’t resist…”
