Cookie Challenge :: One Million Cookies!
It’s time for the 10th Annual Hy-Vee Colossal Cookie Sale, September 11th – 24th.
Yes! One million cookies, that’s the goal.
Last year, we were able to purchase $7,000 worth of cereal with thanks to nearly 740,000 cookies that were sold through the annual Hy-Vee Colossal Cookie Sale.
Helping others never tasted so good!
How does it work? Stop by any metro Hy-Vee store, September 11-24, and purchase delicious cookies at the incredible price of 12 cents each (discounted to 11 cents for quantities of 100). Hy-Vee donates 1 cent per cookie to our Food Pantry Network. With a goal of selling one million cookies, well, if we did the math right, that’s a potential $10,000 worth of food for our pantry families!
The serving choices are endless: birthdays, holidays, gifts, graduations, family gatherings, congregational meals, staff parties. (Not only are these cookies soft and tastey, but they freeze well!)
And if this is not enough to convince you of the goodness of these cookies, Hy-Vee has given us their secret list of ingredients.
Here’s what it takes to make 1 million cookies:
-
6,525 Lbs. of Granulated Sugar
-
5,915 Lbs. of Brown Sugar
-
9,214 Lbs. of Trans fat free shortening
-

They probably could but I wulodn’t use them because its going to be hard to get the taste of the food out of the container. If you need large container I would call a store like Staples,Office Depot/Max, Home Depot, or a large design store like Ikea.
