For nearly four decades, DMARC has leveraged in-kind food donations and volunteer hours to ensure that all possible resources are made available to help families in need.

As DMARC continues to carefully steward the generous gifts of loyal and new donors and volunteers, we recognize there are many worthy charitable causes deserving of your support. On behalf of the nearly 3,000 families served each month by DMARC’s Food Pantry Network, we thank you for your continued commitment and service.
How / What can I donate:
Donate Cash
Cash donations are especially important. We leverage sources such as the Food Bank of Central Iowa and wholesale outlets to stretch our donor dollars, by purchasing up to two-thirds more food for every dollar a food donor might spend.

Important note: In order to receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes, please use the “Memo” portion to include your name, street address, city, state, zip and the program you would like to support (Food Pantry Network, Compassion in Action, childcare assistance, LADOS). Phone number and email are optional.

Donate Food, Diapers, & Personal Products
DMARC also accepts in-kind donations of food, diapers, and personal products. For a complete listing of most needed items, please click HERE.
In-kind donations may be dropped off at the DMARC main warehouse, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., 3816 36th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Summer hours for June, July, and August: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. **We are closed Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving day and the Friday after, Christmas holiday, and New Years holiday.**
Donate via a Red Barrel
In-kind donations may also be dropped off in any Red Barrel located in most Dahl’s, Fareway, Hy-Vee and Walgreens stores. For more information on the Red Barrel program, click here.
